IT Support Specialist



OVERVIEW
The incumbent will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to end-users, within the organisation. They play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of hardware, software, and network systems, resolving technical issues, and ensuring user satisfaction. This position requires strong troubleshooting skills, excellent customer service, and a solid understanding of IT infrastructure.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- A bachelor’s degree in technology, Computer Science, related fields (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience as an IT Support Specialist or similar role.
- Knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS), and software applications.
- Familiarity with networking concepts, protocols, and troubleshooting (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Proficient in diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse and troubleshot technical problems.
- Strong customer service orientation and communication technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems and service management practices.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The incumbent must support requests via phone, email, or in-person and resolve problems.
- The incumbent must install, configure, and troubleshoot computer hardware, operating systems, and software applications.
- The incumbent must provide technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- The incumbent must perform hardware and software upgrades, patches and installations.
- The incumbent must maintain activities, such as system backups, updates, and security checks.
- The incumbent must assist with troubleshoot and network-related configurations.
- The incumbent must escalate complex issues and ensure prompt resolutions.
- The incumbent must provide training and guidance to end-users on IT-related topics.
